State police bust ex-con in Flint

Michigan State Police troopers working in Flint arrested a man just recently released from prison.

Police say they made a traffic stop on Dupont Street near Chevrolet after the driver was seen not wearing his seatbelt and failed to signal a turn. According to officers, the driver smelled "overwhelming of marijuana."

Troopers say they found marijuana packaged for sale and a loaded .45 caliber handgun in the car.

The 33-year-old was arrested.

Police say the man has an extensive criminal history and was just released from prison in January.
