Standish casino to expand, hire an another 250 people

The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe has voted to expand the Saganing Eagles Landing Casino in Standish.

"The time has come to make the changes necessary to ensure we have continued growth and development within the Saganing Area," said Arenac County District 11 Tribal Council member Ron Nelson.

The Tribe said the Saganing Eagles Landing casino will be expanded to include 150 hotel rooms, dining options similar to the Legends Diner, additional slot machines and table games. The extended game options include additional black jack tables, roulette and craps.

The Tribe said it hopes to break ground on the expansion in April or May with a completion date of early spring 2014.

When completed, the expansion is expected to provide an additional 250 part time and full time jobs.
