Second suspect in Millington High School terrorism case to face charges

The second suspect allegedly involved in a threat against Millington High School is expected to face charges.

One student has already been charged with terrorism after the threat at Millington Public Schools before Christmas break.

That student is currently housed in a detention facility.

A second suspect has been released but is wearing a tether. That student faces charges of assault with a dangerous weapon.

The prosecutor's office in Caro said in a news release that Millington school administrators contacted the Millington Police Department and Tuscola County Sheriff's Department on Dec. 18, to help investigate possible threats being made toward Millington High School students.

Deputies interviewed several people and, following those interviews, two students, ages 15 and 16, were taken into custody.

Authorities said their homes were searched and physical evidence was seized.

The incident forced school officials to close all Millington Public schools earlier than expected before the Christmas holiday break.
