The Salvation Army is kicking off its Red Kettle campaign and officials say the need across Mid-Michigan is greater than ever this holiday season.
The campaign was officially launched Thursday at Bronners in Frankenmuth.
Wayne Bronner presented the Salvation Army with a $1,500 check to start off its fundraising efforts.
Bell ringers are out across the area.
Last year's donations helped provide nearly 60,000 meals for those in need.
