Professional angler and motivational speaker Clay Dyer stopped by the Al Serra Auto Plaza in Grand Blanc this morning for a little chat about overcoming challenges.
Dyer was born without both legs and an arm, his other arm grew to elbow length without the hand.
"You're only as handicapped as you allow yourself to be," said Clay Dyer, "I don't allow myself to be that."
He's faced adversity all his life and he says attitude is truly everything.
"I've just used determination and the champion attitude in never giving up. It makes life a lot easier every day having that kind of attitude." Dyer said.
Clay's main message to the dealership today was if I can, you can, and once you meet him you realize you don't have much of an excuse.
"I just feel like I'm made this way for a purpose," Dyer said, "I feel like God made me this way, and this is the way he has instilled happiness in me."
His attitude and enthusiasm was very catchy.
"Absolutely, I could not wait to get here this morning. I was so excited." said Shari Nash
"I've heard a lot of speakers, most of them are all good," said Jon Paris, "He gets his message across, cause he believes in himself more than anything else. Just awesome, great to hear him talk."
