Flint police say a boy being chased by a dog was shot in the foot by a man who fired at the animal, but missed.
MLive.com (http://bit.ly/QnZ6JM) says the unidentified boy was walking from his home about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, when a "large hairy dog" started chasing him and prompted him to yell for help.
The boy says an unidentified man arrived with a black handgun, fired one shot at the dog, missed and shot the boy in the right foot.
Police in the in the city say the boy was treated and released from a hospital after receiving stitches to his foot.
No further details were released.
