A pink tow truck in an unusual site on the road but it's for a good cause. Tim's Towing and Body Shop painted the truck pink for breast cancer awareness.
The pink wrecker isn't only for show, a portion of the proceeds will go to cancer charities. The towing company will donate 10 percent of every call to local breast cancer organizations like Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in Essexville. Drivers have to request the pink truck to make a donation.
October is breast cancer awareness month, but the company donates money all year round.
Matthew Ballor's family owns Tim's Towing and Body Shop, he came up with the idea to paint the truck pink. Ballor said it's a tribute to his grandmother.
"She was a really strong lady, even when she did have breast cancer she never let it bother her or anything like that, she was just so strong and just to see her go through that," said Ballor.
This unique tow truck is painted with a special coat of pink paint and decorated with pink ribbon decals. The truck's name "Lady Luck" is on the windshield.
The pink wrecker has raised at least $300 for breast cancer charities.
If you ever find yourself on the side of the road you can request "Lady Luck" and help fight breast cancer. The number for Tim's Towing and Body Shop is 989-697-5257, just ask for the pink tow truck.
