A local pilot is safe after being stranded on the Saginaw Bay for several hours.
Deputies in Huron County said 49-year-old Rodney Brocke flew to the area in his experimental airplane Monday.
The Bay City man arrived safely, but he lost control of the plane while doing some practice landings. Deputies said the landing gear broke off, causing the plane to flip over.
Brocke was able to free himself and call his wife. Rescue crews found him at around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Brocke was not hurt.
