Parents outraged over Board's discipline of administrators

Parents and residents packed the media room at Beaverton High School for Monday's school board meeting, and they weren't happy.

Former math teacher James Emery is accused of taking a photo of partially clothed female student.

He is currently facing criminal charges.

But the parents at the meeting said he's not the only one who should be punished.

They are upset over the board's disciplinary actions towards three school administrators.

The administrators were named in a police report following the police investigation.

But only one of them received a reprimand from the board. the other two actually received letters of thanks for their cooperation in the case.

Parents said that is simply not enough.

"It hits you emotionally when you have a child that you thought would go to this school district and then you find out all these people you respected and looked up as a child are the ones in involved." said Samantha Oard, a parent

There were about 75 people at Monday's meeting. And a handful of them spoke to the board.

The board responded by saying they understood parents' concerns, but said they've done all that they can legally do at this time.
