Mt. Morris Township Police and the state police are investigating after a woman was found Thursday morning naked, stabbed, beaten and barely alive inside a ditch.
Authorities said the woman, who is described as being in her mid-20s, was found early Thursday morning on Carpenter Road between Elm and Webster, slightly north of Flushing.
Police tell TV5 the woman is from Genesee County and were able to ID her by scanning her fingerprints.
The MSP mobile crime lab is currently investigating the crime scene. The woman was taken to Hurley Medical Center for surgery. She is currently in critical condition.
Investigators are trying to search for suspects connected to the crime.
Drivers are urged to find an alternate route as Carpenter Road could be blocked off for several hours.
The news of this woman's discovery came just as TV5 was learning about the situation near Mt. Pleasant where the body of a missing 24-year-old woman was found along the site of a road. Read about that incident here.
Stay with WNEM.com and TV5 as we learn more about this situation. We'll have live reports from the scene starting at 5 p.m.
