Flint police are investigating at least three weekend shootings that happened over the last 36 hours. WNEM TV5 has learned that at least two people have been killed in connection with the shootings.
The first happened near Leerda and Myrtle around 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Police officials say the victim jumped from a burgundy SUV and then got into a gold Cadillac. The victim had been shot in the head and was taken to Hurley Medical Center. There's no word from police on what led to the shooting, nor any information on a suspect.
That shooting happened only two hours after a deadly shooting on Marvin St. between E. Van Wagoner and Gillespie Avenues. The Flint Journal reports police found shell casings near the victim's body. No other information about the shooting was provided.
This wave of violence began Saturday morning around 1:30 outside the Palm Tree Lounge on Clio Road. Police say the victim, 27-year-old Antwan Omar Tipton, was refused entry into the club and left the scene. Investigators say Tipton later returned with a handgun and exchanged shots with security personnel. A bullet struck Tipton. He later died at the scene. Police have not made any arrests in this case.
If you know anything about any of these shootings, call Crimestoppers or Flint Police.
