A man convicted of crimes as a reputed Mafia captain claims missing Teamsters boss Jimmy Hoffa is buried in suburban Detroit.
Tony Zerilli was in prison when Hoffa disappeared from a Detroit-area restaurant in 1975. But he tells Detroit television station WDIV (http://bit.ly/13vkm50) he was told about Hoffa's whereabouts after his release.
The ailing 85-year-old took a WDIV reporter to a field in Rochester, north of Detroit. The station didn't disclose the exact location.
The FBI declined to comment Monday when asked if the claims are credible. Former Detroit FBI head Andrew Arena says Zerilli's remarks deserve serious consideration.
WDIV reports Zerilli has spoken with the FBI, but it's not clear during his interview why he chose to go public now.
No listed phone number could be found for Zerilli.
