Man killed in Clare County was active in schools

A man fatally shot in Clare County has been identified as a Harrison school board member who also drove buses and previously served as the district's transportation director.

Floyd Dennis was found dead at his home Friday, about 12 miles southwest of Harrison. The Morning Sun reports that a 32-year-old woman was in custody. She could appear in court Tuesday.

The 68-year-old Dennis joined the Harrison school board in 2008, but his service to the district is much longer. Superintendent Tom House calls him a "valuable member of the school community".

Clare County authorities so far aren't releasing many details about the investigation.
