A 29-year-old Michigan man who sexually assaulted and impregnated a girlfriend's 11-year-old daughter has received a sentence of 25 to 56 years in prison.
Trevaun C. Brooks of Warren was sentenced Thursday by Macomb County Circuit Judge Mary Chrzanowski in Mount Clemens.
Brooks pleaded guilty to first-degree and second-degree criminal sexual conduct on Aug. 28, the day his trial was set to begin.
The girl he impregnated gave birth Aug. 9, 2011, at a Macomb County hospital.
Authorities say Brooks and the girl's mother had been in a relationship and he worked two months as a contract janitor at her Mount Clemens charter school.
