Man convicted of sex crime in Bay City faces child porn charges
A registered sex offender from Kalamazoo is being held on multiple counts of child pornography.
A federal indictment filed Tuesday in Grand Rapids says 33-year-old Eric Walker faces multiple charges, including distribution, possession and transportation of child pornography, and sexual exploitation of a child.
Authorities allege that in February and March of 2009 and in March 2011, Walker used his computer to distribute images of child pornography. Authorities say in April, Walker twice persuaded a 15-year-old girl to send sexually explicit photos of herself to him via text message.
MLive.com (http://bit.ly/V4qE7j) says Walker is listed on Michigan's sex offender registry for an April 7, 1997 conviction of attempted third-degree criminal sexual conduct in Bay City.
He is scheduled to appear in federal court Wednesday.
