A pastor who confessed to killing a young mother in her Mount Pleasant home is expected in court Thursday.
John White is charged with killing 24-year-old Rebekah Gay by bludgeoning then strangling her.
Investigators say White confessed to thinking about killing Rebekah for weeks leading up to Oct. 31, when he allegedly carried out the disturbing act.
In a criminal affidavit, the 55-year-old White told detectives he had been having bad thoughts for nearly two weeks about killing Gay then having sex with her dead body.
In the affidavit, White admitted to sneaking into Gay's trailer in Mount Pleasant early Halloween morning and hitting her on the head with a mallet several times.
He says he then put a large zip-tie around her neck and tightened it until the young mother stopped breathing.
White is facing first-degree murder charges at his preliminary hearing.
A judge will decide if there's enough evidence for the case to go to trial.
