Experts are warning that low water levels in the Saginaw Bay area could make it challenging for duck hunters this fall.
Lake Huron is down 9 inches from a year ago.
The Department of Natural Resources says many hunting zones may not be flooded due to the summer drought.
Area waterfowl managers are pumping water when the conditions are right.
The state says hunting conditions are expected to be better at the Shiawassee River State Game Area.
Most hunting zones are expected to be flooded for the opening weekend.
Despite low water, the DNR says the duck and goose population is very good.
Hunting conditions are posted online at www.michigan.gov/wetlandwonders.
