Three lucky high school cheerleaders from Frankenmuth are heading to New York City to march in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Abby Engel, Audrey Gray and Abbey Leach are captains of the high school cheerleading squad. The girls were selected to participate last summer when they were attending a cheerleading camp at Michigan State University.
They will represent the Great Lakes Bay Region and join 650 cheerleaders from around the U.S. to start off the 86th annual Macy's Parade Thursday morning.
After kicking off the event, they will join Santa Claus and escort him along the 2 1/2 mile course.
