Funeral plans for little Jayden Lamb announced
Funeral plans have been announced for the Midland County boy who lost his battle with cancer Tuesday evening.
Jayden Lamb lost his battle with cancer, just two weeks shy of his ninth birthday.
Little Jayden's funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Messiah Lutheran Church, located at 1550 South Poseyville Rd. in Midland Township.
Visitation will be held Friday at the church from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday starting at 9 a.m.
Jayden's passing also inspired a few celebrities to extend their wishes.
Taylor Swift called the family from Australia to share her condolences.
Country star Brad Paisley wrote to him and his family on Facebook, saying he is devastated after learning of Jayden's passing.
Many people are sounding off on the WNEM Facebook page, including Barb Acord, who wrote, "I love this picture so much, for a little angel that has been (sic) thru so much, he looks like one of the happiest boys ever. He sure was a fighter.. R.I.P. little angel
prayers go out to the family of him. Cherish every moment you have with your kids, u never know when it will all be taken away from you. God loaned us our kids, he will need them back one day... God bless!!"
Stacey Hanks writes "A new angel in heaven! Rest easy little man! You fought hard & now you can rest & have no more pain! Thoughts & best wishes to the family."
Two weeks ago, Jayden's classmates, friends and family encouraged people in Midland County to light up their homes with Christmas lights in Jayden's honor.
"Jayden has always been a Christmas guy; he just loved Christmas," said Tom Lamb, Jayden's dad.
Two of Jayden's classmates at Pine River Elementary had an idea to give their friend an early Christmas gift. Third graders Rita Gorsuch and McKenna Long went door to door asking neighbors to put up their lights.
