Free family fun set in Flint park
Flint's historic Kearsley Park will host its free Fall Family Fun Day on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, from 2 to 4 p.m.
Organizers of the event say families and children of all ages are welcome to attend the activities, which will include horse-drawn hay rides through the park, pumpkin carving, costume contests along with cider and donuts.
The costume contest starts at 3 p.m. and people of all ages are welcome to enter. There will be prizes for best costumes. Free pumpkins for carving will be given for the first 50 families (one pumpkin per family).
Kearsley Park Project Director Kay Kelly encouraged all area families to attend. "Kearsley Park is so beautiful in the autumn and the chance to ride a horse-drawn hay wagon through the park has been one of the most popular treats at the park over the years," Kelly said. "We always have a good turnout and I'm sure this year will be no different."
This free event is made possible by a grant from the Ruth Motet Foundation along with Walker Farms and other generous donors.
