Good news for some residents who live along the Tittabawassee and Saginaw River flood plains.
The cleanup effort is moving ahead of schedule.
According to the State Department of Environmental Quality, a request submitted by Dow Chemical Company to begin work on 300 properties has been approved.
An inspection was originally planned for next year.
It's part of a five-year plan to clean up neighborhoods contaminated for decades from Dow's plant based in Midland.
