A student accused of threatening to shoot up Cass City High School could now face criminal charges.
The Tuscola County prosecutor says the threat was directed towards a staff member.
That's according to the Saginaw News.
Authorities said the student denied making the threats, but police interviewed the five to 10 students who heard the threat, and their stories lined up.
Officials said the 16-year-old is no longer enrolled in the district.
Last night, hundreds of parents filled the bleachers inside the high school gym to hear what school officials were doing in response to the threat.
It was made last week and parents were notified over the weekend. Now parents want to know what's being done to ensure their children's safety. Classes have been canceled for the rest of the calendar year.
The school was scheduled to start it's winter break Thursday.
Right now the case is in the hands of the Tuscola County prosecutor.
