Some Ford Tauruses and Mercury Sables are being investigated for sticking throttles.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is looking at the 2000-2003 model years.
It's investigating a potential problem that can cause the engine to keep running as if the gas pedal were pressed, even when it's not.
For now, the agency is not recalling any vehicles.
