Confirmed: Bones found at local golf course are human

A chilling discovery has been confirmed at a local golf course, three weeks after bones were discovered on one of the course's holes.

Police in Flint said the bones discovered Dec. 13 are indeed human and now investigators are trying to figure who they belonged to and how long they were there.

The bones surfaced at the Swartz Creek Golf Course on Dec 13. They were sent for testing shortly after the discovery. Authorities said the bones were found, along with a backpack, near the golf course's fifth hole.

Authorities believe the bones are those of a 50-year-old white man and that they've been at the location for nearly two years.

Anyone with information on the bones is urged to call Flint police at 810-237-6800.
