Claressa Shields receives award from WNBA
Flint native and Olympic gold medal winner Claressa Shields, 17, was honored with nine other U.S. female Olympians at the WNBA's seventh annual Inspiring Women luncheon on Monday in New York City.
WNBA President Laurel J. Richie congratulates the 2012 WNBA Inspiration Award recipients:
- U.S. women's two-time water polo medalist Betsey Armstrong
- U.S. women's basketball four-time gold medalist and WNBA superstar Tamika Catchings
