A 24-year-old Alpena man has been arrested after police said he broke into an apartment early Monday morning.
The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. Monday on the 400 block of Tawas Street in Alpena.
Police said the man was involved in an argument with his girlfriend at an area bar. The girl allegedly went to the apartment of her ex-boyfriend after the incident. That's when the suspect apparently broke into the apartment and assaulted the ex-boyfriend and another woman.
The suspect is currently in the Alpena County Jail and is most likely to be charged with first-degree home invasion.
The man and woman who were assaulted were treated on the scene. The suspect's girlfriend was not harmed.
