  FOX 66 TEEN ALCOHOL AWARENESS CHALLENGE OFFICIAL RULES

Who Can Enter

1. To be eligible to participate in this contest, entrants must be U.S. residents who are 14 years to 18 years of age on January 4, 2010 and reside in the WSMH-TV/DT viewing area.

2. Employees of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc., WSMH, Inc., and any other company which owns, programs or provides other services to television broadcast station WSMH-TV/DT (the “Station”), and their affiliated companies, advertising and promotion agencies, any and all local television broadcast and cable stations, local radio and other media companies and the immediate family members of each are ineligible. The term “immediate families” includes spouses, grandparents, parents, siblings, children and grandchildren.

How to Enter

(a) No purchase is necessary to enter. Qualified entrants may enter as often as they wish. Individuals may enter as individuals or as a team. A team may not contain any more than twenty (20) members.

(b) To enter, log on to www.wsmh.com, download the “TEEN ALCOHOL AWARENESS” entry form; or during normal business hours (Monday to Friday 8:30a.m to 5:30p.m.), request a “TEEN ALCOHOL AWARENESS” entry form. Each group must submit a completed team leader entry from along with a completed individual team member entry form for each member of the team. Individual entrants must submit a completed individual entry form. Each entrant (group or individual) must submit an edited video twenty (20) seconds in length in accordance with the rules described herein. The video must contain a public service message (“PSA”) addressing teen alcohol awareness. Entrants should mail the completed entry forms and video to ATTN: FOX 66 TAA Challenge G-3463 W. Pierson Rd.  Flint, MI 48504. Video entries must be in the form of DVD, MiniDV or DVCPro. Electronic video files (ie. .mov, .mpeg, .wma, .avi) will not be accepted. Individuals appearing in the PSA must also sign an appearance release which must be submitted with the entry form, as further described in paragraph (h) below. By entering, entrants represent that the PSA does not violate the rights of any third parties.

(c) The contest starts on Monday, January 4, 2010 and entries must be received by 5 p.m. Friday, February 26, 2010. Station is not responsible for lost, late, or misdirected entries, videos, printing errors, server unavailability, computer or any other electronic malfunction.

(d) Entries will be judged by a panel of four (4) judges comprised of Station personnel based on the following criteria: (i) impact of message (50%), (ii) Technical Skill (25%), and (iii) originality (25%). On Tuesday March 2, 2010, the judges will select ten (10) finalists from valid entries and based on the criterion set forth above. The decision of the judges shall be final. The Station and judges reserve the right in their sole discretion to disqualify any entry. All finalists will be notified by March 5, 2010.

(e) The finalist PSA’s will be available for viewing online at www.wsmh.com. Beginning March 8, 2010, until 11:59pm CDT on March 31, 2010, viewers will have the opportunity to vote on the finalist PSA of their choice by (i) voting online at www.wsmh.com OR (ii) text their vote to short code “21570” (standard texting fees apply) . The finalist PSA with the highest total of votes (online and text) will be aired on April 6th, 2010. No mechanically reproduced votes will be accepted. Station reserves the right to determine in its sole and absolute discretion whether votes received are mechanically reproduced and disqualify such votes.

(f) All entries received that are mutilated, tampered with, illegible, or from ineligible entrants will be void. All entries, including DVDs and DVCPro tapes become the property of Sinclair Television Company Inc., Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Inc. and the Station and will not be acknowledged or returned.

(g) All entries must be entrants’ original work and should not be/have been submitted to or published or broadcast by any other publication or media company. The PSA message may not contain any copyrighted or trademarked material including but not limited to: photograph likenesses of or references to celebrities or known persons alive or dead, recorded music, published works from books, magazines, newspapers, plays, song lyrics, scripts, essays, articles, web site content, or clips from television programs or movies, sports footage, official logos of any organization, existing artwork or graphic design. Entrants cannot use copyrighted music in the PSA; only original or uncopyrighted music. The Station reserves the right to edit, crop or alter the PSA without notification to or approval by the entrant.

(h) No royalties, talent fees or compensation will paid to those who appear in the video entry submissions. Any individual appearing in submitted P.S.A.’s also must submit a signed appearance release form. Anyone under 18 and appears in one of the P.S.A.’s must have a parent signature to appear in the P.S.A.

The Prize

1. The individual, class or group’s PSA to receive the most on-line votes will be deemed the Grand Prize Winner. One (1) Grand Prize winner will receive on-air recognition and have their twenty (20) second PSA air before American Idol during the week of April 5th 2010. The Grand Prize winning individual, class or group will also receive admission tickets to Cedar Point Amusement Park. No more then four (4) tickets per person will be awarded with a maximum of thirty (30) tickets total for the group or class. Ticket Value: forty-four ($44) per ticket. The value of the air-time cannot be determined.

2. Winners and Finalists will be notified by phone. Winners must sign and return a release and affidavit of eligibility within 30 days of notification (if a group wins, each individual must sign a release). If a winner is a minor, then the winner’s parents or guardian must sign a release and affidavit of eligibility before the winner receives his or her prize. Winners must show picture identification to claim prizes. Station reserves the right to examine additional identification and may choose to accept or deny awarding the prize based on the identification presented. Winners may be required to sign additional documents determined by Sponsor.

3. If a winner cannot be notified within 10 days or does not timely return the affidavit of eligibility, then the prize will be awarded to an alternate winner.

4. There will be no substitutions or cash alternatives for prizes except at the sole discretion of Station. The Station has the right to substitute a prize of similar value. No transfer or assignment of prizes is allowed.

5. The winners are responsible for any taxes related to the prize based on the estimated retail value of the prizes as set forth in these rules. Winners should consult their tax consultants regarding any tax questions.

6. WSMH, Inc., Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not liable if the provider of any part of the prize fails to satisfy its obligations to furnish its portion of the prize.

7. WSMH, Inc., Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. are not responsible for any liabilities arising directly or indirectly from the award or use of the prize.

8. In claiming your prize, you acknowledge that WSMH, Inc., Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and Sinclair Television Group, Inc. have the right to publicize your name, character, likeness, photograph, voice and the fact that you are the winner for promotional purposes without financial remuneration.

Odds of Winning/Miscellaneous

1. Complete contest rules are available Monday through Friday during normal business hours at G-3463 W. Pierson Rd. Flint, MI 48504 or at www.wsmh.com.

2. For a list of prize winners, send a separate, self-addressed, stamped envelope to TEEN ALCOHOL AWARENESS G-3463 W. Pierson Rd. Flint, MI 48504 no later than June 30, 2010.

3. This contest is subject to all applicable laws and regulations and is void where prohibited. WSMH, Inc,,, Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc., Sinclair Television Group, Office of Highway Safety and Second Time Around Consignment accept no responsibility or liability in connection with any injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by or resulting from the acceptance, possession or use of any prize awarded hereunder.

4. Station cannot be held liable for any lost or stolen entries, prizes or contest information.

5. Station reserves the right to make rules and contest changes and change the aforementioned contest dates.

6. Mobile service provider may charge for each text message sent and received according to its standard text messaging rates. Voters should check phone capabilities for specific text messaging instructions and consult with mobile service provider regarding pricing plans.  Not all mobile phone providers carry the necessary service to participate.
